At Ambassador Training Academy Ltd, our 18-day SIA Close Protection course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and practical experience required to begin a career within the close protection industry.

The 18-day programme covers the core knowledge and practical skills required for an SIA Close Protection qualification.

PRACTICAL, SCENARIO-BASED TRAINING

A major focus of our course is practical application.

Throughout the programme, learners will be placed into realistic scenarios designed to replicate the pressures and decision-making associated with working in the private security industry.

1-Protective Operations

• Learners develop practical skills in protecting a Principal while operating individually and as part of a team.

  2-Route Planning & Reconnaissance

• Planning movements, identifying potential risks and developing appropriate contingency plans.

  3-Foot Drills & Formations

• Practical movement drills designed to develop awareness, positioning, communication and team coordination.

  4-Vehicle Operations

• Understanding the principles of vehicle-based protection, movements, arrivals and departures.

  5-Venue Security

• Planning and conducting protective operations within different environments and identifying potential vulnerabilities.

  6-Threat & Risk Management

• Developing the ability to identify threats, assess risk and implement appropriate protective measures.

  7-Dynamic Scenarios

• Learners are required to make decisions under pressure and adapt their plans as situations develop.

INDUSTRY-FOCUSED INSTRUCTION

Our instructors are actively involved in the private security industry and bring real-world experience into the training environment.

FIRST AID - Pre Hospital Trauma

Close Protection Operatives may be required to respond to medical emergencies as part of their role.

Our training pathway therefore places a strong emphasis on appropriate pre-hospital emergency care and practical medical response.

Where included within the course package, learners complete a First Person On Scene International (FPOS) pre-hospital course before commencing their Close Protection training, providing additional medical knowledge and practical experience relevant to security operations.

ASSESSMENT

Learners will undertake the required assessments throughout the programme.

Our instructors provide ongoing guidance, feedback and preparation to help learners understand the required standards and develop their skills throughout the course.

Practical exercises are used to reinforce classroom learning and help learners become comfortable applying procedures in realistic situations.
